It has been a surreal and very busy term at Crown Street Primary School, not to mention the first ever term! The children have settled into school life so well and we would like to thank all our staff, parents and carers and everyone who has helped us along the way for all your support! With the countdown to Christmas, we would like to share a couple of our highlights from this term and a festive message from our Head of School, Mrs Thompson!

Winter Performance:

All our pupils have been working hard, learning their lines and getting into character for their Winter Performance! Thank you for all the support from the amazing teachers, and parents and carers who came to watch the children and cheer them on!

Viaduct Sky Garden Visitor:

We had a visitor, Beth from the National Trust talk to us all about Castlefield Viaduct sky garden. Beth spent time with pupils and talked to them about what the viaduct was in the past, what it is now and how long it has been a garden for. We then talked about what gardeners do and what you’ll find in the garden – including both plants and animals. We loved looking at the animal puppets and talking about the different animals that visit the viaduct. The children listened incredibly well, showed great respect and asked lots of engaging questions throughout the visit and developed their sense of community and citizenship. Thank you to Miss Mcleod Marsh who organised the visit for us!

Here is a festive message from our Head of School, Mrs Thompson!

From all of us at Crown Street Primary School, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
