The school officially opened on Monday 3rd September 2024, as Mrs Thompson (Head of School) and her team welcomed the very first cohort of pupils for the start of the 2024/25 academic year.
Since starting at the school, children have settled into life across Reception and Pre-School, making new friendships and finding their passion for learning.
Crown Street Primary School is operated by the Laurus Trust and is one of five Primary Schools within the Trust, these primaries include Gorsey Bank Primary School, an Outstanding primary school in Wilmslow, along with Cheadle Hulme Primary School, Hazel Grove Primary School and Woodford Primary School.
The newest school in Manchester for almost twenty years
Being the newest school in Manchester in almost twenty years has made the headlines, as the school featured on ITV’s Granada Reports earlier this month, which showcased the four-story building nestled between two skyscrapers, along with the rooftop playground.
Throughout the coverage, pupils shared what they have enjoyed about their early experiences at Crown Street Primary School, while Mrs Thompson highlighted the importance of delivering the highest quality education for all pupils in line with the school’s vision of offering “education on another level, where possibilities are endless”.
